WEST CONSIDERS ITSELF TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE FOR EVERYONE - RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SERGEY LAVROV
-Sergey Lavrov-
A month ago, Russian President Putin met with North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un in Russia. The whole world, especially the West, closely followed this meeting. President Putin agreed to come to the DPRK. Why is the West so afraid of our friendship?]
"Why should I answer this question?
I can only express a general opinion regarding the actions of the West, not only in relation to our ties with North Korea but to any region of the world.
The West considers itself to have the right, first of all the United States (the Americans have long subjugated the rest of the West), to decide for everyone: who should meet with whom, who should negotiate something with whom, and who should observe prohibitions.
The United States constantly puts forward demands: 'you must' and 'you are obliged.' Russian President Putin has spoken about this more than once. Who owes what to whom, and what are they obliged to do?
There is one charter in the world - the UN Charter, which states that the organization is based on the principle of sovereign equality of states. Since the entry into force of this most important international legal document, the United States has never observed this fundamental rule in any conflict or crisis.
Instead, they demand that everyone adhere to their 'rules,' which have never been published or seen anywhere. The instinctive drive towards hegemony is present and does not help resolve issues but only leads them into a dead end.
If you look at the history of adventures that the U.S. has undertaken in various parts of the world—Southeast Asia, Afghanistan, the Middle East—none of them has been successful and none has led to a normalization of the situation. On the contrary, seeds were sown there that continue to yield their sad and dangerous shoots to this day."
