NAIROBI CITY SINGLE MOTHERS LOBBY GROUP SLAM FORMER NAIROBI COUNTY EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEMBER MUTHONI OUKO OVER CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS

26th, February 2024

Former Nairobi County Education Executive Committee member Muthoni Ouko has been slammed by Nairobi City Single Mothers Lobby Group over past corruption and misconduct allegations during her tenure in the former regime.

Addressing members of the press this morning in Nairobi, the group uncovered disturbing allegations of embezzlement of bursary funds by Muthoni OUKO which it said has deprived countless children of educational support that they desperately need.

"The Nairobi Single Mothers Lobby Group has uncovered disturbing allegations of embezzlement of bursary funds by Muthoni Ouko, amounting to tens of millions of shillings. This misuse of public funds has deprived countless children of the educational support they desperately need." The statement read.

The group further revealed what it called irregularities that surround Muthoni's reappointment as Minister for Education and her subsequent earning irregularities, saying that these actions only undermine the integrity of government institutions and erode public trust.

In addition, the group was concerned about Muthoni's involvement in running a private shadowy school feeding enterprise, saying that her recent lawsuit against Governor Sakaja's Dishi na County Feeding Program indicates ulterior motives driven by personal gain.
"Muthoni Ouko's alleged involvement in running a private shadowy school feeding enterprise has raised concerns. Her recent lawsuit against Governor Sakaja's Dishi na County Feeding Program suggests ulterior motives driven by personal gain rather than genuine concerns for the welfare of Nairobi's children." The statement revealed.

The group has therefore called for a thorough investigation into these allegations and has urged the relevant authorities to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
