NARC Kenya Leader Martha Karua Urges Kenyans to Unite and Hold Leaders Accountable
In a stirring address delivered today in Nairobi, Martha Karua, leader of the National Alliance of Rainbow Coalition (NARC) Kenya, urged Kenyans to unite and demand greater accountability from their leaders. Addressing the press this morning in Nairobi, Karua emphasized the critical need for political and social cohesion in the face of ongoing national challenges.
“Our nation stands at a crossroads,” Karua declared. “We have the opportunity to shape our future, but only if we come together as one people with a common purpose.” Her call for unity resonated strongly as she highlighted the divisions that have plagued the country in recent years.
Karua's statements focused on the need for transparent governance and effective leadership. She criticized the current administration for its perceived lack of accountability, stating, “It is unacceptable that after years of promise, our leaders still fail to deliver on their commitments. The time has come for us to hold them accountable.”
The NARC Kenya leader also addressed the issue of corruption, which she identified as a major obstacle to national progress. “Corruption continues to siphon resources meant for development and services,” Karua said. “We cannot continue to allow a few individuals to undermine our collective progress.”
In addition to political reform, Karua called for increased civic engagement. “Change begins with each and every one of us,” she urged. “We must be vigilant, informed, and active participants in our democracy.”
Her address concluded with a message of hope and determination. “Despite the challenges we face, I am confident in the resilience and strength of the Kenyan people,” she said. “Together, we will overcome these obstacles and build a nation that we can all be proud of.”
