EMPOWERING EDUCATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY AND SECURITY

By Stella Ranji

In a world where technology is rapidly reshaping every aspect of life, education stands at the forefront of this transformation. This morning, I had the privilege of representing Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Higher Education and Research, as the Chief Guest at the Hikvision Safe Campus and Smart Education Open Day held at Safari Park Hotel.

The event underscored the critical role of technology in shaping the future of higher education and campus safety. Innovations such as artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, and virtual reality are not just enhancing security but transforming how we teach, learn, and engage in a rapidly changing world. These technologies create opportunities to foster creativity, equip learners with future-ready skills, and make our institutions more inclusive and globally competitive.

I also took a moment to acknowledge the ongoing policy initiatives by the State Department for Higher Education aimed at driving critical reforms in the sector. These efforts, alongside broader government reforms, are vital in shaping a higher education system that is innovative, globally competitive, and responsive to the evolving needs of learners and institutions.

I extend my sincere appreciation to Hikvision Kenya for organizing this impactful event and to all the stakeholders championing these transformative efforts. Through sustained collaboration, we are laying the foundation for a safer, smarter, and more adaptive education system that meets the dynamic needs of our society.
