Formerly known as Medic East Africa, the event marks 15 years of connecting global healthcare manufacturers with African markets.

The three-day summit brings together more than 200 international exhibitors and over 5,000 visitors among them policymakers, health professionals, and distributors from across the region.

According to Shane Fleming, Sales Partner Director at WHX Nairobi, this year’s edition is all about collaboration and access.

“We’ve been running this show for 15 years, bringing together healthcare and laboratory companies from all over the world,” he said. “This year, our goal is to connect global manufacturers with Kenyan distributors, hospitals, and local governments helping strengthen access to quality healthcare.”

The exhibition couldn’t have come at a better time.

Kenya’s healthcare sector is undergoing major transformation, with a renewed focus on affordable, technology-driven medical services.

Many exhibitors at WHX Labs are introducing cost-effective, high-quality medical technologies aimed at supporting local hospitals and public health programs.

“The products showcased here are competitively priced, making it easier for both government and private hospitals to invest in advanced equipment,” Fleming added. “By working closely with local officials and healthcare professionals, we aim to improve quality of care through innovation in AI, manufacturing, and digital diagnostics.”

Digital Health Takes Center Stage

A standout theme this year is the rise of digital healthcare and remote diagnostics, now seen as game changers in expanding access to care especially in rural and underserved communities.

New technologies showcased at WHX Labs are enabling faster, more reliable data transfer between health facilities, helping bridge the gap between patients and specialists across the region.

“Digital healthcare is the big thing moving forward,” Fleming noted. “With new systems, patients in rural areas can get tests done locally and have their results transmitted in real time to doctors in urban centers. That means faster analysis and quicker treatment ensuring everyone gets the care they deserve.”

Empowering Learning and Collaboration

Beyond the buzzing exhibition floor, WHX Labs Nairobi doubles up as a learning and networking hub through its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) conferences.

Here, clinicians, innovators, and health experts from across Africa share strategies and solutions that are shaping the continent’s healthcare future.

“Our intention is simple to provide access,” Fleming said. “Access for distributors to meet partners, for hospitals to explore new solutions, and for clinicians to learn from each other. It’s all about empowering the region to deliver better healthcare.”

A Platform for Progress

Over the years, WHX Labs Nairobi has cemented its role as a regional anchor for healthcare innovation, collaboration, and capacity building.

By blending cutting-edge global technology with local expertise, the exhibition supports Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals and contributes to the broader vision of resilient, equitable healthcare across East Africa.

As the exhibition unfolds, one thing is clear: the future of healthcare in Africa is collaborative, data-driven, and digitally connected and WHX Labs Nairobi is helping make that future a reality, one innovation at a time.
