Kenya hosts landmark FIM Africa Central Africa motocross challenge 2025
Kenya has once again stamped its authority as a regional motorsport hub after hosting the 2025 FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross Challenge (CAC) at the Matteos MX Track in Naivasha on Saturday and Sunday this December, in an edition widely hailed as a milestone for African motorcycle sport.
The FIM Africa–sanctioned championship was hosted by the Blade Doc Network under the Motorcycle Sports Federation of Kenya (MSFK), drawing elite riders from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Competitors battled for regional honours across multiple categories, including Pewee, 50cc, 65cc, *MX Lites*, MX1, MX2, *WMX*, Veterans and Masters.
With a history spanning more than 20 years, the Central Africa Motocross Challenge remains one of the continent’s most competitive regional championships. Kenya’s hosting of the 2025 edition reinforced the country’s growing reputation as a centre for international motorsport, both in organisation and technical standards.
Beyond the racing, Kenya used the event to roll out major safety and medical initiatives. For the first time in the region, the FIM International Medical Mentorship Program was integrated into the championship, bringing together Chief Medical Officers and trackside medical teams from six African nations for a high-level seminar on global motorcycle sport emergency response standards.
The event also showcased Kenya-led road safety advocacy through the Rising Stars Africa Road Safety Campaign, an initiative by the Blade Doc Network. Over 200 graduates of the programme, trained in road safety and first aid, served as marshals during the races, translating community training into practical trackside safety support.
“This year’s CAC was about more than competition,” said Dr David Karuri, Founder and CEO of Blade Doc Network. “Kenya provided a platform that combined elite sport, athlete welfare, anti-doping education and meaningful road safety impact.”
By hosting the 2025 Central Africa Motocross Challenge, Kenya positioned itself at the forefront of African motorcycle sports development, blending high-octane racing with professional medical standards and community-driven safety initiatives.
