UDA Celebrates Clean Sweep in By-Elections, Hails Public Rejection of ‘Empty Politics’

Kenya’s ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has declared a resounding political victory following a clean sweep of all elective seats in the just-concluded mini-polls, interpreting the results as a powerful endorsement of the party’s development agenda and a firm rejection of the opposition’s rhetoric.
In a series of statements released following the tallying of votes, the party congratulated its newest elected officials: Hon. Duncan Muratia Nyaga (West Kabras), Hon. Peterson Njeru Njiru (Evurore), and Hon. Thib Ndombele Ndong Ngong Rds (Muminji Ward/South Parliament seat), alongside Hon. Zilphia Kananga.

The UDA leadership framed the victories not merely as electoral wins but as a fundamental shift in the Kenyan electorate's mindset. According to the party, voters have decisively moved away from what it describes as the "disjointed opposition’s hot-air politics."

"The voters are emphatically rejecting politics whose currency remains hollow microphone gymnastics, noise without substance, and rhetoric without responsibility," read a memo from the Office of the President, signed off with the party slogan, Katni Kazi (Kiswahili for "It's time to work"). The statement suggested that opposition tactics, often designed to stoke emotions, are being abandoned by citizens in favor of narratives that promise tangible transformation.

UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan reinforced this message, stating that the party would not be drawn into "unproductive discourse with a rudderless opposition." He thanked Kenyans for "decisively switching off the degenerative, policy-free pronouncements of the opposition."

Central to the party’s narrative is the implementation of its development blueprint, referred to internally as "The Plan" and the "Yellow Map." Described by party officials as a "living document" and a tool for "understanding, planning, and decision-making," the map is positioned as the administrative compass guiding the country toward what the party calls a "Singapore-style development trajectory."

"The Kenyan message emerging from the just-concluded by-elections speaks unmistakably to the growing public faith in the implementation of the UDA Manifesto," the statement continued. "Residents of Isiolo, West Kabras, Evurore, and Muminji have firmly vetoed the United Opposition’s floods of words accompanied by a drought of ideas."

The opposition is yet to issue a formal response to the UDA's characterization of the results. However, the ruling party has cast the outcome as a clear mandate to continue its legislative and policy agenda without distraction.
