Solaire Africa has officially launched its Nairobi headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion strategy and reinforcing Kenya's position as a leading destination for renewable energy investment in Africa.
The opening of the regional office signals the company's long-term commitment to Kenya and the wider East African market as demand for reliable, affordable and sustainable energy solutions continues to grow.
With more than 20 years of experience in power systems manufacturing and renewable energy solutions, Solaire Africa has already established a strong footprint in Kenya, having delivered approximately 3.5 megawatts (MW) of solar installations across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Speaking during the launch, Solaire Africa Chairman Mohammed Ali Chenagadan said Kenya remains a strategic market for the company's African operations due to its progressive renewable energy policies, growing economy and increasing demand for clean energy technologies.
He noted that the establishment of the Nairobi headquarters would enable the company to better serve customers across the region while supporting Kenya's transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
"Our decision to establish a permanent presence in Nairobi reflects our confidence in Kenya's renewable energy sector and our commitment to providing world-class solar solutions to homes, businesses and industries," he said.
Solaire Africa offers a wide range of renewable energy products and solutions, including solar inverters, lithium storage batteries, Tier-1 solar panels, solar water heaters and complete balance-of-system components. The company supports projects ranging from household installations to large-scale commercial and industrial energy systems.
The firm has built its reputation on delivering quality products backed by technical expertise, strong after-sales support and a comprehensive ten-year manufacturer warranty.
Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Rinas Chenagadan described Nairobi as an ideal gateway for the company's broader African ambitions.
He said the regional office would enhance customer engagement, improve technical support services and strengthen partnerships with installers, distributors and project developers across East Africa.
"The opening of our Nairobi headquarters represents a major step in our growth journey. We are committed to empowering communities and businesses with reliable clean energy solutions while contributing to economic development and environmental sustainability," he said.
A key highlight of the company's expansion plans is investment in local capacity building through specialized training programs targeting engineers, technicians and solar industry professionals.
According to Director Gourab Sarkar, the training initiatives will focus on installation standards, system design, maintenance and emerging solar technologies, helping to address the growing need for skilled personnel in the renewable energy sector.
He noted that the company is keen to support the development of local expertise while creating opportunities for young professionals seeking careers in the clean energy industry.
The launch event brought together business leaders, energy sector stakeholders, members of the diplomatic community and representatives from Kenyan and Indian trade organizations, underscoring the strong economic ties between the two countries.
Industry players attending the event welcomed the company's investment, noting that increased participation by international renewable energy firms will help accelerate access to clean and affordable power solutions across the region.
Kenya continues to emerge as one of Africa's most attractive renewable energy markets, driven by supportive government policies, rising electricity demand and growing awareness of sustainable energy alternatives.
The establishment of Solaire Africa's Nairobi headquarters is expected to strengthen the country's renewable energy ecosystem by promoting investment, creating employment opportunities and supporting the adoption of innovative solar technologies.
As Africa continues its transition towards greener energy sources, Solaire Africa's expansion into Kenya reflects growing confidence in the continent's clean energy potential and positions Nairobi as an increasingly important hub for renewable energy innovation and investment.
