Jimi Wanjigi Challenges President Ruto Amid Allegations of Abductions

In a dramatic press conference held on September 3, billionaire businessman Jimi Wanjigi publicly accused President William Ruto of being involved in a series of alleged abductions that have sparked nationwide concern. Wanjigi's statements came after revealing that several individuals who visited him following his recent arrest have mysteriously disappeared.

Wanjigi's frustration was evident as he detailed the disappearance of Bob Njage and the Longman Twins, who reportedly went missing after being taken into police custody three weeks ago. "We are standing in solidarity with the families searching for their loved ones," Wanjigi declared, denouncing the current administration’s handling of the situation.

The businessman, known for his outspoken criticism of the government, issued a stark warning to President Ruto. "William Ruto, I am coming for you. I am coming for you in the political arena, in the legal arena, and I am coming for you with the constitution of Kenya," Wanjigi said, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the state of governance in Kenya.

Wanjigi also accused Ruto of failing to address the issue, criticizing the president for his alleged ignorance of the situation. “Ruto seems to be delusional,” he stated, adding that the information regarding the abductions is readily available and should be addressed by the government.

The press conference was bolstered by additional voices of dissent, including Joshua Okayo, a student leader who shared his own experience of abduction and release. Okayo, who was taken on June 26 and found by the Maragwa River two days later, called for continued public pressure on the government and criticized Ruto for failing to address widespread corruption and theft.

The allegations and the high-profile challenge from Wanjigi highlight a growing tension in Kenyan politics, reflecting deepening divisions and heightened public scrutiny of the current administration.
